5 mi SE of Charlottetown in Lot 49. Named for Alexandra Caroline Marie Charlotte Louisa Julia who married Albert Edward, later Edward VII, 1863. Noted in JHA 1870. P.O. 1884-1915.
Alexandra Bay is in Queens C. off Hillsborough Bay, SE of Charlottetown. The Mi'kmaq called it Ogosikcheech, 'little place where goods are landed.'
And the French called it 'anse de Matelot,' Sailor's Cove. By 1846 it was on a map as Alexandra Bay, taking its name from the adjacent community of Alexandra.
