Description From Owner:
- 5 mi N of Charlottetown in Lot 33. P.O. Brackley Point Road 1868-1912; P.O. Thorndyke 1896-1912.
- The name likely comes from nearby Brackley Bay which was named for a Mr. Brackley who was Clerk of the Legislative Council from 1772- 76.
- He came to the Island with Gov. Patterson and drowned in the bay named for him. In 1765 Samuel Holland had named the place Petersham Cove for William Stanhope (1719-1779), Viscount Petersham.
