  • In Lot 65 at Rocky Point. Site of Port La Joie, French settlement 1720, captured by British 1758.
  • Site of largest French settlement near Rocky Point, S of Charlottetown in early 1700s. In 1721, 100 people were living there.
  • That year Lt.-Col. Andrew Rollo (1703-65), 5th Baron Rollo, reported completion of Fort Amherst, named for his superior officer, Major-General Jeffrey Amherst (1717-97).
