Description From Owner:
- 8 mi SE of Crapaud. Noted in JHA 1839. P.O. from 1859.
- In 1837 William Walter Irving who had emigrated from Kirtlebridge, Scotland, bought 80 hectares of land on the West River here and called his home after Bonshaw Tower.
- The tower, near his home town, was the ancestral home of the Irvings in Dumfries-shire. Car Life Museum on Route 1 has a collection of vintage farm and road wheeled vehicles including an 1898 Mason stream car. Open June-Sept.
