- 6 mi SE of Kensington in Lot 67. Named by Thomas and Benjamin Haslam c1828 because many springs were in an open clearing near their house.
- P.O. 1861-1914, although a letter was sent from there in 1833 using the name. Springfield: Former school district at Commercial Cross, Lot 59.
