Description From Owner:
- 3 mi SE of Kensington in Lots 19 and 25. Named by P.O. Department Norborough to replace Brooklyn, the name the people asked for in 1872.
- At the same time the railway station at present Kelvin was called Brooklyn. P.O. Norborough 18721913.
- Formerly called Bowness for Robert (1794-1872) and William Bowness (17961874) who came from Dumfries, Scotland, 1835.
- Meacham 1880 shows Norborough for the P.O., Brooklyn for the school and Kelvin Grove for the station. The school later became Norboro, and this form has survived.
