6 mi NE of Borden in Lots 26 and 27. It is located exactly midway between Northumberland Strait and the Prince-Queens boundary.
School district c1855. P.O. c1864-1912. Formerly called Southwest, from Southwest Brook, a tributary of Dunk River.
Middleton Pond on the SW branch of the Dunk River was created by John Wright in the 1830s to run his grist, saw and shingle mills.
