  • Myriad View Artisan Distillery

  • This company's enterprising entrepreneurs are reviving an Island tradit- ion of longstanding: producing moonshine... or more precisely, Strait Lightning.

(The word moonshine evolved from bootleggers smuggling illegal liquor under cover of moonlight).

The distillery is named for the ever-changing views across Northumberland Strait which it overlooks from Highway 2 near Rollo Bay.

So for the distillery produces Strait Gin, Strait Lightning, Strait Rum, Strait Shine, and Strait Vodka but the owners plan to soon expand their inventory to other brands, likely beginning with whiskies.

Tours and tastings are available. The company was started in 2006 and to date its products are available only through PEI Liquor Commission outlets, or at the distillery.
