Sandbar between Murray Harbour and Northumberland Strait.
Probably named because it had no vegetation. Named by the French Pointe au Sable. Holland 1765 Sable Point, but it is not known locally, although on NTS 11 L/1 1966.
Sable is French for 'sand.'
