- Extends into Gulf of St. Lawrence, 4 mi NW of St. Peters, Lot 41.
- Said to be named for a piece of hemp cable found on the shore, evidently from a vessel. The first settlers called the place Ceann Cable ('cable end' or 'cable head').
- 4 mi NW of St. Peters in Lot 41. School district established 1869. P.O. c1897-1914. Wright and Cundall 1903
