  • Cedar Dunes Provincial Park

  • The Tallest Square Lighthouse

It's a lighthouse, it's an hotel, it's a museum and it's a restaurant and it's the only lighthouse on PEI that isn't owned by the federal government.

It's also the tallest square lighthouse at 21 metres (67 feet). West Point Lighthouse was built in 1875 at the western entrance to the Northumberland Strait.

The non-profit West Point Development Corporation has operated the lighthouse property since 1984 and ownership was transferred from the federal government in 2002.

Nine rooms with en suite bath are available in the lighthouse and others in a motel-type addition. There's also a full service restaurant specializing in chowders and lobster suppers and a gift shop.

The lighthouse is on Northumberland Strait in Cedar Dunes Provincial Park.
