5 mi E of Hunter River in Lot 24. School district 1855. P.O. 1889-1912. Douglas 1925 writes 'doubtless biblical', but offers no evidence.
Formerly called New Glasgow Road. A local resident in 1924 suggested it was from I Samuel 12, and that it meant 'stone of help'.
