In Malpeque Bay, 1/2 mi SE of Courtin Island. Named for Abbé Courtin, missionary to the Micmacs 1731-1732. Bayfield 1850 Curta'n I.; Douglas 1925 and NTS 11 L/12 1967 Courtin Island. In Micmac Eoletigel Menigol, 'poor islands' (Pacifique 1934).
