2 1/2 mi SE of Charlottetown in Lot 48. JHA 1831 notes a Kinloch's Creek in Lot 48. Kinlock Road passes through the small community.
Named by a Scottish settler for Kinlochmoidart at the head of Loch Moidart where beech trees honour the seven Moidart men who helped Prince Charles Edward Stuart after his arrival in Scotland in 1745.
