Village incorporated 1950 on NE side of Charlottetown. Bayfield 1846 St. Avard; Meacham 1880 St. Avards.
The latter was named for Joseph Avard (17611816) who came to PEI from England, 1806 to manage lands at Murray Harbour. Parkers Point: Extends into Georgetown Harbour, Georgetown Royalty.
Meacham 1880 shows Geo. Parker there, and Cummins 1925 notes Herb. Parker.
